If you miss one of our workshops and are interested in the information, please stop by The Writing and Speech Center and we will be glad to share it with you. Grant Proposal Writing Workshop
March 12, 2015

Please join us for a workshop focused on grant writing, funding, and reporting. Clyde Derrick is the Director of Foundation Relations at Claremont Lincoln University. He has brought in many successful grants, some as high as $250,000. For this workshop he will offer a primer on grant writing and reporting.

Wendy Lee is Vice President of Advancement and Communications for Claremont School of Theology. Wendy has many years of experience obtaining grants from both foundations and religious organizations. She will focus on the opportunities for grants from denominational organizations and how this can differ from traditional foundations.

Dinner will be served.


Long Night Against Procrastination

Got quals? Final draft of the M.A. Paper due March 24? D. Min. & Ph.D. dissertations due April 1? You are invited to join us over spring break on March 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Butler 201 to fight procrastination and work to face up to looming deadlines. Bring your laptops and books and be prepared for a marathon writing session (with some fun breaks).

Writing Center staff Raymond Elias, Kirianna Florez, Pam Nourse, and Jennifer Mawhorter will be on hand to assist with the writing process. Email RSVPs are required. To reserve your spot, simply email the Writing Center (writingcenter@cst.edu) with the hours you plan to attend. We look forward to celebrating your victory over procrastination!





Writing Center Open
The Writing Center is now fully open and peer tutoring sessions have begun.

Our peer writing tutors for this semester are: Hafsa Arain, Abigail Clauhs, Raymond Elias, Kirianna Florez, Pam Nourse, and Meghann Robern. They all look forward to seeing you soon!


If you need technical assistance for writing, you may schedule an appointment with Jason Mitchell. He is available to assist with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Pages, Apple Keynote, Citation Management Software, Speech-to-Text, and other writing related technologies.


Online appointments are available through Zoom Video Conferencing Software. This software can be downloaded from zoom.us. Full instructions are available on the Writing & Speech Center website.

If you have signed up for a teleconference or videoconference via Zoom, please email your paper on the morning of your appointment to writingcenter@cst.edu so that we can print it and read it before you call in. At the time of your appointment, please have a printed copy of your paper and a pencil in hand. Then call 909-447-2556 to reach a tutor or 447-2539 if your teleconference appointment is with Jennifer Mawhorter. If you have scheduled an online tutorial using Zoom, please attach your paper to the appointment and join the online Zoom videoconference meeting using the writing tutor's number at the beginning of your appointment time.
